Marie Mayes

Marie Mayes, Academic Director of the Center for Entrepreneurship
Washington State University Carson College of Business

Marie is the Academic Director of the Center for Entrepreneurship and an Associate Professor (Career Track) at the Carson College of Business at Washington State University. In her role as Academic Director, she fosters entrepreneurial engagement, scholarship, and dialogue across the university. Marie teaches courses in Launching New Ventures, New Venture Planning, and Innovation. Beyond her work at WSU, she maintains a consulting business and participates as an angel investor. She holds both a BA in Political Science and an MBA from Washington State University.

Daniel Hatch

Daniel Hatch, Director of Commercial Banking

Daniel has been in the commercial banking and credit union industry since 2007. He started his career as a commercial underwriter for business lending at both regional and national institutions. He has led multiple commercial lending sales teams over the last decade and currently manages the business and commercial real estate lending sales division at BECU. Daniel has financed a wide range of businesses including those in the startup phase all the way to multinational enterprises. He graduated from Western Washington University with a degree in Finance and Economics and is a Certified Public Accountant. Daniel has held this designation since 2011.

Austin Guyette, Partner
Voyager Capital

Austin joined Voyager in 2018 after working on enterprise technology investments at M12, Microsoft’s venture fund. At Voyager, Austin plays a key role in identifying new investments and supporting the growth of Voyager’s portfolio across the Pacific Northwest. Austin is a board member for Voyager Fund V portfolio company, Averlon. He is also responsbile for Voyager's pre-Seed investments in Brevy, OverlandAI, and Pictory.

Prior to Voyager, Austin was in M12’s Seattle office focused on early-stage investments across artificial intelligence, application software, and security. He started his career as a consultant for Fortune 500 financial services and healthcare clients before working at an early-stage analytic software startup that has raised over $200M to improve the cost and quality of the US healthcare system.

Austin holds a B.S. in Physics with concentrations in Applied Mathematics and Chemistry from Bates College and an MBA from the University of Washington. In his spare time, you can find him with his dog in the Cascade Mountains skiing, climbing, and mountain biking.

PACAM is a consulting and advisory firm founded by private capital markets veteran, Jody Page. With 15 years of industry experience Jody has amassed an impressive track record of bringing new products and financial services to market.

Jody Page, first with PitchBook where he successfully on-boarded over 90 of the firm's initial clients, which includes some of the largest and most well recognized tech and commercial banks ahead of its acquisition in 2016 by Morningstar. Next with Lighter Capital, executing over 100+ separate debt financings of software and tech-enabled service companies. Over his tenure, Jody has worked with dozens of companies that successfully raised venture capital and/or achieved exits.

Jody's perspective is informed by his combination of financing and operating experience. Having evaluated thousands of early stage companies for financing as well as working in high-growth environments, he is uniquely informed in the practicalities of financing and operationalizing strategy.

Pat Murphy, Founder & CEO
Founder & CEO of LeadScorz Inc; Co-Founder & Executive Director of the Lead Quality Alliance

Pat is a serial entrepreneur and Angel Investor, with more than 35 years of experience launching groundbreaking technology companies. His focus has been the development of B2B business applications and services across several verticals, including financial services, healthcare, and education. He has designed and marketed several enterprise applications, serving in C-Suite roles for six online B2B businesses, starting with N2H2 in 1997, where his sales team was instrumental in the successful IPO for that Internet Content Filtering company. His exit from N2H2 to leadership roles in NetMinds Consulting, Mosaix Communications, Vega Performance Marketing, and his current venture LeadScorz Inc, which he co-founded in 2019 with his long-time business partner, Judd Boone.

Pat earned his BS in Economics from WSU, adding an MBA in Finance two years later while also teaching a Business 491 class in Strategic Management. Pat is a long time member of the Carson College Dean's National Board of Advisors, and has served on the Entrepreneurial Studies Advisory Board and as a Judge for the WSU Business Plan Competition for over 15 years. He lives in the Greenlake neighborhood of Seattle with his wife Kris, whom he met while attending WSU.Outside of work, his passions include a life-long love of Baseball, lived through 25 years as a Volunteer Board Member and Chief Umpire for the states largest Little League organization.
